Elon Musk jokes about remaining grateful to Billie Eilish: See why
Elon Musk, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO, shared a post about singer Billie Eilish walking outside one day and seeing a boy crying. She gives him a roll of air conditioning pair coil telling him he was destined to do great things, and the post concludes that the boy grew up to be Elon Musk. The world’s richest man captioned it “Still so grateful”, adding a teary-eyed emoticon at the end.

Musk had earlier shared this meme in 2019, captioning it “And I am forever grateful”.

The 51-year-old entrepreneur is obviously much older than the 20-year-old American singer-songwriter. This is a meme format which turns chronology upside down on its head showing someone giving advice to a young boy or girl, who grows up to be a famous individual who’s much older in real life than the one giving the advice. A Reddit post includes an observation by a user, who says that they doubt the Billie Eilish and Elon Musk story since the “timeline and probability” does not add up.
The meme format has been around for some time and includes the likes of Lin Manuel Miranda, the American actor and playwright. It is a meta joke where he is walking down the street and sees a young boy crying, advises him not to ever give up on his dreams, and the little boy grows up to be Lin Manuel Miranda.
There is a version involving pop star Britney Spears telling a young boy to keep studying and he’ll achieve great things. The boy grows up to be Steve Jobs, who famously dropped out to start Apple.
