Follow laid down rules in replacing CJN – Shehu Sani warns
Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the Eight Assembly, has called for due process in the replacement of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN),
Sani made the call following the resignation of Justice Tanko Muhammad as the Chief Justice of Nigeria.
We had earlier reported that Justice Tanko resigned as the CJN on Sunday, citing ill-health.
The former federal lawmaker said laid down rules should be followed on his Twitter handle on Monday.
Sani wrote: “The replacement for the CJN should strictly follow the laid down rules. There should be no jumping the queue in order to find a person who will fit into the political, sectional, religious or ethnic peg of the ruling establishment.”
Justice Tanko was appointed Chief Justice of Nigeria back in 2019.
